Whether you're hurt or hungry, broken or lost, or simply looking for a place to find hope and love, there is always a place for you at Hickory First. Our passion and our focus is to reach the lost and broken hearted right where they are no matter what the cost may be. We are all apart of this broken and lost generation and we all need the perfect love that only Christ can give.
Hickory First is located near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in western North Carolina. We are an energetic and dynamic church desiring to meet people right where they are. Outreach magazine has placed Hickory First in the top 20 fastest growing churches in America, also named the 3rd fastest growing Assembly of God church in America. Just this past Easter we ministered 2036 people of which 248 gave their heart to the Lord, so we believe that we have something for everyone. Our Outreach and Missions ministries start here in Hickory and reach globally around the world. We believe that our purpose is to seek after God and the lost, empower each other by the Word of God through love and unity, and release each other into their own special calling and/or ministry.

Here at Hickory First, our first time visitors are looked upon as our VIP Guests. We want to let you know that we welcome you just the way you are, no matter what the case may be. We believe that the best way to reach the broken hearted and the hurting is to meet them right where they are. When you walk in our doors you will be greeted by one of our trained volunteers and be handed a Visitors Packet, enclosed is a little bit about us and what we believe, a little about Pastor Mark and you will recieve our newest CD featuring Hickory First Worship free of charge! We also offer Continental breakfast for everyone including our visitors free of charge, and we have a Cafe for everyone to help theirselves to drinks coffee before the service. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible when you come to our church, so whether you are at one of our campuses our watching onine, make yourself at home and check out what Gods doing here in Hickory and around the globe!

Kidzone is the childrens ministry of Hickory First. From start to finish, we strive to make your time with us a great experience. One of our Kidzone Host Services volunteers will walk you to where you drop off your child. Your child will be greeted and shown his or her room by one of our
volunteers. All of our volunteers are background checked and trained to guarantee your child the best experience possible. During the worship experience, they will sit in the Kidzone Designated area in the autotorium.
We seek to make this your childs favorite day of the week, so we use skilled volunteers, technology, fun activities, and excellent environments to communicate the timeless knowledge of our loving God. We believe this makes Kidzone a place your child will be begging you to bring them back to each week!

Prime Timers meet the third Saturday of each month and includes those who are 55 and older. We share a covered dish meal, prayer, praise and worship, devotions, and games. An occasional outing is planned for the whole group to enjoy.
SSS is a Christian, non-profit organization dedicated to serving inner-city children throughout North Carolina and various urban centers around the world. For the past 3 years, Hickory First participated in SSS and has worked to rescue hurting children and offer a message of salvation and love that encourages them to stay in school and away from gangs and other destructive or criminal behaviors so common in inner-city environments. Hickory First SSS has operated programs at more than 13 sites in Hickory, North Carolina as well as 5 sites in Charlotte, North Carolina.
SSS is dedicated to serving boys and girls growing up in the roughest circumstances and environments around the globe, ministering to them through weekly Sunday School services, child sponsorships, special programs and personal home visits on a weekly basis.
Making the Gospel available to children is what we do! But it's not easy when we're competing with empty stomachs. Hickory First has expanded our outreach to give kids both the spiritual and physical nourishment they need. When the money or, in many cases, the food stamps run out, we will help feed them. Hickory First has and will continue to feed over 5000 young children and adults whom to some may be the only meal they eat that day.

The School of Urban Missions is a fully accredited Bible College that is training men and women to proclaim Christ throughout the cities of our world! While preparing for ministry in the Hickory SUM Cohort you will receive academic excellence, practical hands-on ministry and transformational mentorship. You were chosen for this moment. God planned and designed for you to live in the here and now. You are a product of "Divine Design" God told Jeremiah that before He formed him - He knew him -Jer 1:5. Same Biblical book, 29:11 God said - For I know the thoughts that I think towards you... thoughts of peace and not of evil...
The Creator of the Heavens and the Earth - the King of kings and Lord of lords, knows your very being. He planned and purposed for you to be... As God did with the Seed and Mary - crushing the plan - in the seed - and placing that seed in Mary - so does God today with us. He has a designed plan for us - that plan, from before we were born - is then, crushed into a seed and placed within us.
It is our responsibility then, to RELEASE THE SEED - to become what God has planned for us to become. To fulfill our destiny. To understand the big picture. To walk in the ways that have been ordered by the Lord. How do we do this? Faith - Obedience - Joy.

As mentioned a few weeks back, were going to start highlighting some of our extremely talented photographers that volunteer their time and talents at Elevation each weekend.
1) We want you to get a glimpse of what happened in our past weekend worship experiences.
2) Remember that in your own ministries there are gifted people who have a lot to offer, and would love to be a part of making your ministry/church thrive. Theyd love to capture and archive what the Lords doing in your church through their love of photography. Theyd just love to give to the local church. Find them. Give them the opportunity to load in speakers. Pull a trailer. Set up the childrens room or nursery. Serve coffee. Rebuild a porch for a single mom. Hang with and love on some local less-privileged kids. Whatever it is. Empower your people. Its a beautiful thing when each part of the body works together.
One of my favorite parts about Elevation is that were built on empowering others to reach their potential in Christ.
